Justice news in brief 12/6


* Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung agreed with the Ministry of Justice’s proposal to join the Hague Conference on Private International Law. The Ministry is assigned to cooperate with other relevant ministries and agencies to launch propagation activities about the Conference and strengthen activities within the Conference. With 72 members (71 States and the European Union) representing all continents, the Hague Conference on Private International Law is a global inter-governmental organisation. A melting pot of different legal traditions, it develops and services multilateral legal instruments, which respond to global needs.

* At the meeting with visiting Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan in Hanoi on July 8, Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung  said that Vietnam and Armenia should work together to improve the legal framework for bilateral cooperation.

* To implement the directions from Ministry of Justice and provincial People’s Committee, Tuyen Quang provincial Department of Justice held the conference to gather opinions on the draft Law on civil status under the chairman of the Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Justice Nguyen Thi Thuoc.
